Weeknotes 11 - The category is: money
- I am watching Pose. It’s brilliant. Is it one of the best TV shows ever made? Yes.
- No single quote has ever made a cabinet minister seem more relatable.
- The Cut is currently doing a series of interviews about money and wealth. I am really enjoying it. There’s one with Maria Konnikova on making a living from poker, one where Abigail Disney talks about what it’s like to receive a large inheritance, and one with Jessica Knoll who made her fortune through writing. I nodded so hard reading Knoll’s thoughts on what money is and why it matters:
Money has healed me. It’s protected me. It’s given me security. It’s given me peace in my home. It’s given me a lot of really meaningful things in my life. […] Money can’t buy happiness? I hate that saying. Money helps a lot of people. To pretend that it doesn’t is just woo-woo bullshit.
- I spent most of Saturday cleaning my flat. This weekend is the anniversary of me buying the flat and moving in, and it still feels like the greatest gift I ever gave myself.
