Yes, in principle it’s Tuesday and these are late. But what even is “time” anymore? Checkmate.
I am currently on holiday, as in, I took a week off to sit at home and enjoy hobbies. I took staycations a few times in the past. Sometimes I just want to spend time on my own sewing something complicated. Up until now it’s been a bit weird to admit I’d use up my holiday allowance to sit in my flat watching Gossip Girl but that’s how I recharge.
There’s a black and white thread shortage, which is unfortunate, because I have multiple black and white sewing projects lined up, ready to cut.
If there is one thing I hope for it’s that we all wear masks in crowded places in the After times. I avoided getting public transport in the past because apparently in Britain it wasn’t considered hella rude to cough and sneeze at your fellow passengers. Maybe this will change.
Last week I ordered a doughnut and veg delivery from Crosstown Doughnuts. It came with flour, coffee, granola and a loaf of bread. It felt like some kind of celebration. The doughnuts were amazing and didn’t last long.
I was trying to work out why I’m feeling so fatigued and why I’m having to work extra hard to be focussed at the moment. Apparently others are feeling a bit meh too, but the hypothesis is that it’s because we move less. Between Ring Fit, Beat Saber and FitOn I get strength, flexibility and cardio workouts every day. According to my watch I burn slightly more calories than on most days in the Before. I eat well, I sleep a good 8-9 hours a day. I think it must be the background stress.
And while we’re at it, how come everyone seems to have MORE free time? Between the cooking, cleaning and the extra exercise I have to do to make up for the lack of cycle commute I somehow have a lot less time than before lockdown.
I cancelled my gym membership because now that I’ve cracked working out every day using basic equipment and self-discipline why would I ever go back to a place teeming with germs?
I love the bit in the Animal Crossing where you give a bug to Blathers and he starts sweating buckets. It’s adorable.
