Weeknotes 106 - Fine but slow
- There were a few days this week when I had residual brain fog after having a cold. It was horrible. On Tuesday I struggled to think straight and had to take some time off work. As soon as the fog lifted I felt an urge to do intellectual activities. So this weekend I played with Grid Garden to learn about CSS grid and played with painting cool visuals on HTML canvas.
- I try to have non-computer related hobbies because sitting at a desk invariably hurts my body after a while, so it’s best kept to a necessary minimum. Because of the aforementioned urge to play with code in my spare time I borrowed my partner’s standing desk and it was a revelation. I can’t stand at it for too long, but it’s a nice change of scenery to differentiate it from work-related computer use.
- Periodically I get contacted by someone who’s never met me, but who seems so unsatisfied with my name being just Nat that they invent a new, longer name for me. To add insult to injury the new name is always wrongly gendered. I have one question. WHY.
- A friend sent me a video of Prince playing guitar and looking very fashionable. So now I’m planning a Prince-inspired outfit for the first real night out once I’m vaccinated and things go back to normal. I mean just look at this gold combo. I can’t imagine a better look for telling Covid where to stick it.
